DESCRIPTION:The Pentecost event was the fulfillment of a promise which Jesus gave concerning the return of the Holy Spirit. The speaking in tongues\, which was a major effect of having received the Spirit\, is interpreted by some to symbolize the church’s worldwide preaching. \nJoin us for a festive celebration of Pentecost\, sometimes referred to as Whitsunday.  We are encouraged to wear red to church on Pentecost.   Red is the liturgical color worn when celebrating Saints Days and Ordinations. SUMMARY:Maundy Thursday - Bible Foods Potluck and Solemn Service of Holy Eucharist
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday March 28 at noon for a simple potluck luncheon of meatless dishes that were popular during Jesus’ time.  After lunch in the Undercroft\, we will process to the Sanctuary for a solemn service of Holy Eucharist in honor of Jesus’ last meal with his disciples.  The service will include foot washing for those who wish to participate.  On the night before his death\, Jesus set an example for his disciples by washing their feet\, an act of humble service. \nScripture lessons are: \nExodus 12\, 1 Corinthians 11\, John 13 and Psalm 116. \nFollowing the service the altar will be stripped in preparation for Good Friday. \nAll are welcome.
