SUMMARY:Day of Pentecost:  Whitsunday  Holy Eucharist
DESCRIPTION:The Pentecost event was the fulfillment of a promise which Jesus gave concerning the return of the Holy Spirit. The speaking in tongues\, which was a major effect of having received the Spirit\, is interpreted by some to symbolize the church’s worldwide preaching. \nJoin us for a festive celebration of Pentecost\, sometimes referred to as Whitsunday.  We are encouraged to wear red to church on Pentecost.   Red is the liturgical color worn when celebrating Saints Days and Ordinations. By inviting everyone to wear red on Pentecost\, we are inviting you to remember that each of us is a member of the Communion of Saints. \nLiturgical dance will be performed by Valerie Henry\, Founder of Dance Mosaic. \nJoin us for a May Day Tea following the service in the Undercroft at noon.  Please bring a picture of yourself as a baby\, and a picture of your mother.  Enjoy a selection of petite sandwiches and desserts\, assorted teas and drinks will be served. \nNot able to join us in person?  Watch the worship service on Saint Luke’s YouTube channel  www.youtube.com/@saintlukesepiscopalchurchm1591 \nAll are welcome! \n
